Cadet Statistics
As of 15 Sep, the Class of 1998 has graduated 940 cadets (790
men, 150 women). In addition, 2 posthumous degrees were awarded. 915 (766 M,
149 F) were commissioned into the Air Force & 11 men were
cross-commisioned. (4 Army, 5 Navy, and 2 Marine Corps) Six (5M & 1F)
graduated but were not commissioned. Six men were international students. Six
are still pending graduation. The most popular majors were Biology (89),
Political Science (70), Management (69), Operations Research (68), and
Behavioral Science (77). Another 174 received degrees in one of the engineering
areas. 110 were graduates of the USAFA Prep School and another 52 from other
prep schools. 514 are slated to go to pilot slots, minus 18 who accepted
graduate scholarships. Another 12 are scheduled for navigator training. 204 of
the grads had been recruited athletes. 65 cadets will be going directly on to
graduate school, including 15 to Med School, 2 to USUHS, 2 to Nursing
School.
